Take a breath. Seriously, take a breath. Now take a deeper breath. On this next deep breath, breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth. Relax your shoulders. With this final breath, repeat the previous step slowly and with your eyes closed. Continue the previous steps until you feel a calming sensation. Once you do, assess your senses. By this, I mean pick something to look at and really focus on it. Place something in your hand and try to focus on how that object feels. Close your eyes and find out how much you can hear. If tasting is your go-to sense, throw a piece of chocolate down the hatch. Sometimes it’s good to stop, take a breath, and be with yourself for a while.
